I researched a number of quality looking cabinets before I made my final
decision. For the longest time, I was convinced that I would follow
Scott's Unicade. But after studying it for a long time, I decided that I could not afford to by an authentic arcade monitor. The Unicade's base is designed to mount an arcade
monitor to it. I would have to figure out how I was going to get a television to work into his design.
I had seen
Lusid's Arcade Flashback, so I decided to revisit this design. The thing that sold me on Lusid's design was that he had designed his with a 25" TV in mind. I knew that I wanted a large screen and a 25" TV seemed like the answer. Both a new 25" arcade monitor and a computer monitor that comes anywhere near 25" was out of my price range. Plus,
structurally, I think it is better. Sean had also put a lot of work in up front and has a
PDF file for download that is a tremendous help. I was able to build a
model from his PDF file that proved to be very handy during the
construction phase of the cabinet.

So, essentially that was it. Thanks to the hard work of others, I was able to find a design and get started.
